John R. Esters, M. D. comes from Biloxi, Mississippi. Dr. Esters obtained his undergraduate degree from Tennessee State University. Dr. Esters then earned his medical degree from the Howard University Medical School in Washington, DC. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Esters received extensive education and training in the specialty of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Esters has completed fellowships in Phacoemulsification, as well as Cornea and Anterior Segment (sub-specialties for the treatment of eye diseases). Dr. Esters is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
After practicing in Alaska and west Texas, Dr. Esters came to central Texas and began practicing in 1992. In 1993, Dr. Esters founded the Eye Care Institute to bring the latest in state of the art vision care to Bell County. Located near Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights, Dr. Esters provides care to the Fort Cavazos community and surrounding cities and towns. Licensed as a physician and surgeon, Dr. Esters provides the full range of eye care necessary for all stages of life.
